How do I access my Kindle book?
When you order a Kindle book from HIM Publications, you will get the link to download this book sent to you via email. Click on the hyperlinked title of the book to download directly to your device.
Then, you can access your book either (1) through a Kindle app on your non-Kindle device, or (2) directly transfer it to your Kindle device:
- Through a Kindle app on your non-Kindle device (e.g., tablet, computer, smartphone). You can add your book directly to your Kindle application on a particular device. Make sure you have downloaded the Kindle reader app on your device before you download your Kindle book. Whatever the device, you will need a Kindle reader already installed in order to access your Kindle book.
- On your Kindle device. If you want your book on your Kindle device: HIM Publications purchases to not sync with the Kindle store. That means you will need to transfer your Kindle book to your Kindle device. You can do this in multiple ways from your computer:
- Send your document through a “Send to Kindle” email address. Learn more about this feature here.
- Connect the Kindle to the computer using a micro-USB cord. The Kindle will appear as an external “drive.” Open the Kindle “drive” folder and drag and drop the purchased file into the Kindle “drive” folder. Be sure to eject the “drive” before removing the cable.
Note: Because we do not encrypt our digital books with DRM coding (Digital Rights Management), adding these to one device does not automatically sync with your Kindle app on other devices you own. You must complete the download process described above for each device because we do not sync our Kindle books with Kindle’s online DRM system and app. So if you download the book on your computer but you want it on your tablet or smartphone device (or both), you must follow the instructions under (2) above so you can read it natively from that device.
